Established in the 1880s, the Princeton University Art Museum is one of the finest college art museums in the nation, housing more than 60,000 works of art in its permanent collection. Visitors can view a huge array of styles and periods, ranging from 19th-century South African tribal sculpture, to contemporary American paintings, to the university's renowned 6,000-piece Asian collection. The museum resides in McCormick Hall, on the campus's north side, near the Princeton Cemetery.
